Sharp and sophisticated Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture suit. A continuation of the infamous 1966 'Le Smoking' suit that dared to open up the world of women's evening wear to the dynamic and modest suit. This ensemble dates to approximately Autumn/ Winter 1984/1985. Charcoal grey wool with contrasting solid black wool detail at pockets, cuffs, and collar. The jacket features notched peak lapels, three button closure, envelope style pockets on either hip, and one hidden pocket at the left breast. The pants have a classic '80s tapered leg and high-waisted rise. Side zip and button closure on the pants. Both pieces fully lined. Excellent tailoring.
