Classic and timeless early 1960's Marc Bohan era Christian Dior Haute Couture afternoon dress. Composed of a lightweight black pebble wool. Sweet bow detail at the waist. Elegant and conservative under dress and overblouse style silhouette. Very Jackie O! Under dress has slip style bodice composed of a lightweight silk taffeta with a wool button front straight skirt. Overblouse is cropped and fitted with three quarter sleeves and center bow. The overblouse is weighted at hem and zips up back. The inner dress closes with a row of hook and eye closures at the back. Lined with black organza. Couture finish seams.
Very good to excellent condition. The organza lining has split at the back of the dress and near the zipper of the overblouse. It appears that the buttons down the front are not original. All of the seams appear to be original. There is slight discoloration under the arms of the inner dress.
