A spectacular piece from a true Los Angeles gem. Ruben Panis, known as the "Outstanding Filipino Couturier of Beverly Hills". Panis's beaded evening gowns were coveted by icons of glamour such as Elizabeth Taylor and Zsa Zsa Gabor. The dramatic puff sleeve silhouette of this gown is undoubtedly inspired by Panis's Filipino heritage. The traditional Filipina Terno silhouette consists of distinct butterfly sleeves and a straight skirt silhouette. This sophisticated and regal Filipina silhouette is embellished with a hybrid of Beverly Hills glamour. Foliage is embroidered all over the gown with black beaded accents. Rows of dangling beaded fringe decorate the empire waist just below the bodice. Straight silhouette from the empire waist down with a slight flare at the hem. Rare and collectible.
