Elegant ensemble by English designer, Jean Muir. Muir rose to fame in the '60s as one of the new "Mod” designers, however her pieces tend to have a minimalist leaning with softer construction and styles. This ensemble is from the '90s, but you still see bits of the classic '60s look. Muir took elements of what came before, and what would come later on with the forethought of designing for the way women actually build a wardrobe. Timeless!
This beautifully constructed ensemble is composed of a lightweight ecru crepe wool and lined in acetate. The babydoll silhouette is underlined by light padding a the shoulders. The coat flares out from the babydoll bodice line above the bust. Three button closure above the bodice. The skirt is a classic fitted pencil skirt with clean lines. The skirt buttons and zips at the side waist.
Excellent condition.
