An early unsigned Miriam Haskell bib necklace dating to the 1930's-1940's pre-war era. This gorgeous piece is not like anything you find in the modern world of costume jewelry, yet it still feels fresh. The necklace is composed of a gilt metal chainlink holding the molded turquoise glass beads by hand-wiring with the sweet touch of a flower design on the bottoms of the glass beads. The bib necklace consists of four strands that graduate in size for an intoxicating dose of drama. Carved gilt leaf and flower adornment on the round box-clasp closure. An especially rare Haskell. A collector's dream.
Unsigned. It's noted that Miriam Haskell pieces were typically signed only with a paper tag from 1926 to around 1947. This rare piece is consistent with documented Haskell's of the 1930's and 1940's.
Great condition. The gilt metal has a darkened patina that adds a rich depth and contrast. Commensurate with age, no visible flaws.
