Absolutely eye-catching set by the great Galanos. Gorgeous lamé silk jacquard in an exaggerated paisley motif depicted in acid green and black with accented pops of orange and red. The shimmering gold lamé is gold shot. The banded drop-waist of the blouse hits at the high hip for an elegant and flattering silhouette. Black stone-encrusted oversized buttons add an extra pow. Slight peek-a-boo between the gathered buttons at the front. The blouse closes with a row of hidden buttons down the back. The long sleeves are shirred and taper with a subtle leg of mutton shape. No late 1980's piece is finished without a strong set of rounded shoulder pads. The blouse is lined in sheer black silk chiffon and the skirt is lined in black silk satin. The skirt is a classic high-waisted and knee-length style with an elasticized skirt waist.
A beautiful statement ensemble desirable to any Galanos collector or lover of rare designer vintage with off course couture finishing.
Very good condition. The skirt's elasticized feels to have lost some of it's stretch, but it still expands 4 inches.
