From New York designer Joan Vass comes this airy, bohemian chic tunic and pant set. Vass is one of those if-you-know-you-know, cult favorite designers that emerged out of the artistic scene of SoHo in the 1960's. Joan launched her label in 1977, and gained a following by minimalist NYC style pillars of the era such as Jackie O and Ali MacGraw.
This elegant ensemble captures the quiet sparkle of Joan's work with attention to quality materials such as this luxurious matte silk crepe chiffon. The silhouette of the longline tunic is straight and hangs loosely from the figure with side slits. The opacity fades at the bodice for a revealing element with the added tactile intrigue of the textured staggered vertical topstitching. At the lower quarter of the tunic, there is a geometric motif sewn with gold lame threads. This motif is on the pant legs as well as the elegant fold-over collar. The breezy pants have a drawstring for closure at the waist. Both pieces are unlined. The tunic blouse is pull-on style. The no-fuss longline silhouette elongates the figure. Elegant, refined, and completely unique.
