An exceptional Issey Miyake design from his seminal Spring 1991 collection known as the "Shift Dress", as seen on the runway in a highlighter yellow. This exceptional piece from Miyake's SS91 collection captures the designer's revolutionary approach to garment construction-- where fashion meets architectural origami to create wearable art that maintains its sculptural form both on and off the body. The nature of the iconic pleats allow for stretch and ease of movement. The silhouette consists of a wide bateau neck, long curled sleeves, a tapered waist, and a short hemline. The dress is a solid shade of royal purple. We also have this design in a grey and orange stripe.
