Stunning satin silk gown by James Galanos from the 1970's. Exquisitely crafted from a sleek variety of satin-back crepe silk with quintessential Galanos-tier craftsmanship. The raven black gown has a quietly brooding and mysterious aura due in part to the romantic bishop sleeves and dramatically ruffled hem. The dress skirts's sexy, body-skimming silhouette flows into the ruffled hem consisting of three tiers. All hems have been expertly finished with couture-finish techniques. Fully lined in black silk chiffon. The gown is complete with buttons at the cuffs, discrete seam pockets, and an invisible zip closure at the back.
The label is the 3rd GALANOS label, dating this piece roughly no later than 1977. Likely 1975-1977. Galanos for Amelia Gray's Beverly Hills boutique.
