A bold and glamorous offering from Elie Saab's Spring 2010 Ready to Wear collection. This gown packs a powerful punch, and it's clear to see why it was the second to last closer at the Elie Saab SS10 runway show. The elegant movement of the the free-falling silk chiffon tendrils are beautifully captured in the runway shot and video. Very Christophe Decarnin for Balmain in all it's rock and roll glamour.
The gown is composed of expertly draped and ruched layers of matte black silk chiffon. The plunging neckline is anchored by the pronounced, wide-set shoulders that are fully adorned with shades of metallic gold, silver, brass, and clear embellishments. The metallic embellishments consist of dense, overlapping sequins, and beads of various smooth and faceted finishings as well as intentional oxidation. The shoulders are backed with shoulder pads. The embellishments continue through down the sides of the shoulder and connect at the nape of the neck with a hidden hook and eye closure. The metallic clusters frame the sexy back cutout. The outer layer of the dress skirt is an airy black silk chiffon and the second inner layer is a matte black silk. This red carpet worthy gown has the finishing touch of a slight train at the back. Fully lined. Zip closure at the lower back. 100% silk.
