Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garcons Ready-to-Wear Spring 2008 navy blue gingham heavily ruffled bolero. This playful piece will strike CdG collectors as visually similar to the iconic SS97 collection titled "Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body". The SS08 show that this frothy chiffon bolero hails from featured a runway of unconventional silhouettes that were seemingly inspired by frilly 1930's circus clown bloomers and vibrant 21st Century anime characters. The navy blue gingham bolero we have in our collection here is composed of a lightweight polyester chiffon with rows of ruffles. The cropped silhouette features half-length sleeves with a 1 inch slit at either cuff and an open, closure-free front. Unlined. Excellent vintage condition.
