Christian Dior Spring 1963 boucle wool skirt suit in a classic early 1960's silhouette. This style was made famous by Jackie O, and she had many infamous suits designed by Marc Bohan at Christian Dior of this time. This ensemble epitomizes the "slim Look" that Bohan popularized during his tenure at Dior. A glimpse of a strikingly similar Dior suit is seen on the cover of Vogue (October, 1963) in an adorable shot by David Bailey!
Sweet, feminine, and eternally chic. The boucle wool is lightweight enough for Spring wear in a vibrant shade of deep navy blue. The suit jacket closes with four large buttons down the center and the skirt closes with a small metal zipper hidden at the center back. The skirt has black leather loops for belt holes, although the belt is not included in the ensemble. Beautifully tailored for a precise fit. The skirt is approximately knee length. Fully lined in blue spun silk.
Very good condition. There is a faint sign of fade at the front as seen in the photo. Also 2 moth holes. These photos were taken in studio lighting, and in natural light this imperfection is truly difficult to detect. Numbered and dated Christian Dior label.
