The entirety of the off-white silk dress is covered in inky black "CHRISTIAN DIOR" lettering between crossword puzzle-esque geometric blocks. One of the earliest examples of luxury typographical branding on a garment. Christian Dior-New York Inc. opened in 1948, and by the early 1960s, CD-NY designers began designing for the line, marking an important turning point in American fashion. Perfect day-to-night piece for cocktails or brunch. The detachable Peter Pan collar offers styling versatility. Expertly tailored with pleats below the natural waist, hem at the knee. Bodice lined with gauzy silk muslin, built-in under-blouse of double-layered cream silk muslin with back zip. Outer dress snaps closed discreetly up the back. Collar attaches via hidden buttons.
