An impossibly elegant dress by Chado Ralph Rucci from his Spring 2009 collection. The master of covert minimalism at the turn of the millennium, Rucci's pieces often appear straightforward only to reveal intricate detailing upon closer inspection. The sculptural form of this dress is accentuated by off-white topstitching and the fabulous trapunto paneling. The dress is composed of a beige-ecru cotton and silk blend with the slightest matte sheen. Subtly pearlescent and luxurious to the touch. The classic A-line fit-and-flare silhouette is complemented by a notched boat neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. The waist is accentuated by the addition of a scarf tie-belt with fringed hems. Hidden pockets at the base of the trapunto quilting at the front. There is an invisible zipper that cleverly follows the curved seam. Double-layered and lined in a fine cream silk.
