A rare and sophisticated leather cape coat by the brilliant American sportswear designer, Bonnie Cashin. This timeless piece dates to Cashin's 1960's collections with Sills at Bullock's Wilshire.
The supple leather is a soft shade of beige ecru. The leather has a beautiful sign of wear and patina indicative of quality Angola leather. The collar is a neat and preppy 1960's style collar. Quintessential Cashin seamwork is present throughout the coat's thoughtful and subtle topstitching. Cashin's signature brassy chrome hardware closures catch the eye in a rare oversized latch style. One brass late is under the collar and the second is at the bustline. There is a slated opening at either side of the waist for arm mobility. Fully lined in silver-beige satin.
Very good condition commensurate with age with gentle signs of wear throughout the leather. These are minor surface imperfections A few abrasions to the lining near the Bullock's tag as shown in the photo. The satin lining is otherwise in-tact.
