Luxurious Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Fall/Winter 1977 coat from the iconic 'Les Chinoises' collection. This collection was the third in a series of instantly celebrated worldly collections of the late 1970s: Fall 1976/1977 'Opéra-Ballets Russes', Spring 1977 'Les Espagnoles et les Romantiques', and Fall 1977/1978 'Les Chinoises'. This stunning Russian blue-grey wool coat features a luxurious silk mauve lining at the shoulders. The Chinese influence is evident in the high mandarin collar, three toggle closures, and regal yoke trimmed in wool yarn fringe that matches the fringed hem. The draping creates a cape-like silhouette with billowing sleeves that gather at the cuff. The lightweight wool has the gentle weight of a transitional season overcoat—perfect for layering. In excellent condition. A spectacular addition to any YSL collector's archive. Labeled FR 42—fits a range of sizes, would likely overwhelm XS or very petite frames.
