Luxurious and sophisticated 1940's hand-embroidered blazer jacket custom made by R. Saillart. The R. Sailart Anvers label is of mysterious provenance, but we know the name, Anvers, is taken from the French name for the city of Antwerp, Belgium. Très chic. This jacket exudes Old Hollywood tailored glamour. It could easily be on a luxuriously clad star in Casablanca (1942).
Meticulously handmade with intricate brown floral raised tambour embroidery. The silk interior adds an extra touch of opulence. In good vintage condition, one minor hole at top lapel (pictured) Additionally, various light yellow spots probably from age. Inner collar and shoulders show same discoloration. It still has many years left of classic beauty and longevity.
