A Taxco Mexican sterling silver bracelet dating to the 1950's-1960's. This mid-century piece was created in the style of William Spratling's famous Fertility Bracelet. You can see Spratling's influence on may of the silver jewelry that came out of Mexico at that time. This bracelet has 6 articulating pieces, and each piece has been hand cut and chased. Mind you this is way before laser cuts! Tab insert clasp for closure.
Around 1979, the silver maker's stamps changed to including an alphanumeric system that helps identify the workshops. Signed with the maker's stamp "Plata de Taxco".
Great vintage condition.
