A piece of fashion history - a black velvet beaded 1880's carriage coat from the Victorian era. Built for warmth with quilted lining. Chenille and woven silk ribbon fringe with interior ribbon sash belt. Meant to be worn very fitted with limited arm movement - so just sit there and look pretty. In excellent condition with only some wearing away of the velvet interior collar and lining - which actually gives it a cool patina from the previous owner. Not visible when worn. Wear it while you watch "The Gilded Age", sip tea and chat about the new corsetless styles. Make it a whole thing!
