This darling 1960's sailor dress comes from the iconic Southern California label, JAX. Founded by Jack Hansen, personal friend and designer to Marilyn Monroe, the JAX boutiques catered to countless Hollywood starlets and served as the meeting place for Rudi Gernreich and Peggy Moffitt when he was a designer and she a sales girl.
When the label alone carries such rich fashion history, it's impossible to deny the status of the dress as a true vintage gem! The classic sixties sailor silhouette is complemented by navy blue cuffs and a sailor midi collar trimmed with strips of white. The long sleeves, side pockets, and button front placket root the dress in its utilitarian inspirations, while remaining both flirty and feminine.
Good vintage condition, slight wear and some minor faded stains.
