From Haitian-American designer Fabrice Simon came an array of beaded gowns and dresses that adorned celebrities, socialites and heiresses in the 1980's. This gown is the shining example of his craftsmanship and iconic style. A well documented and coveted piece for any fashion history collector, this ensemble made it's debut for Fabrice's 1984 Holiday Collection. The high-neck on this ensemble exudes elegance- very Elizabeth Taylor if we do say so ourselves. The primary dress is accentuated in length by the separate skirt. The skirt is sheer at the top and fits the double lined chiffon nature of the dress. The back features a gorgeous cowl drop to reveal the back. Zipper located at left waist. Snap and hook closures at neck. Skirt features hook clasp and a slit. 100% silk.
Very good vintage condition, no apparent rips tears or flaws apart from light discoloration in areas throughout. Multiple photos show the light bleaching... perhaps from age or improper storage/cleaning. As you can see from the full length photos, it is not noticeable from afar. There are two minor stains also pictured. We thought about beading over those areas but.... Price reflects the condition.
The dress fits like a US 2, but the skirt fits like a US 0.
