A striking Lorena Sarbu gown from the designer's archive dating to the late 2000's. Sarbu is famed for her beautiful Red Carpet gowns, and this is no exception. The gown is composed of a sophisticated silk faille with a romantic and intriguing warped ikat-esque floral motif in shades of black, grey and white. The ruched bodice gathers into a crossed halter neckline that attaches at the upper back. One strap is made of a slightly larger panel of faille and can be extended to cover one shoulder if desired. The straps can also be fashioned to one side for a single shoulder strap. Three gowns in one! The bodice of the gown is thoughtfully constructed with enclosed interior boning for a built-in bustier effect at the bust. The wide waistband consists of a fine net tulle lace overlay with a beaded argyle lattice adorned with prong-set rhinestones and intricately shirred black silk chiffon. The bust cups are gently padded and shaped. The tailoring of the gown flatters the figure with an elegantly curved hip silhouette that tapers from the widest point of the hip and down the thigh where the skirt of the gown flares into a mermaid hem. The exterior gown zips closed at the back and the interior corsetlette zips closed underneath. Fully lined.
