A remarkable midnight blue velvet devoré gown from the 1930's. A romantic and mystifying burnout velvet floral print decorates the gown. Just enough metallic lamé threads are woven into the backing juxtaposing the velvet to create a shimmering mirage. Please consider this dress for any future plans to sneak out of a party in full swing just to stroll through a garden at midnight to meet a star-crossed lover. A cocktail party will do, as well. The notched inset waist panel meets the bodice with a delicate gather at the bust. Fluttering hemline. Notched neckline and delicate shoulder gather detail. Approximately ankle length. Unlined. Side snap and hook closure.
Beautiful condition for a 100 year old piece! Overall great condition. A few teeny points of repair are hard to detect. One small point of discoloration that is almost completely camouflaged by the sheen of the velvet and the reflective metallic threads.
