Couture cocktail ensemble by Chado Ralph Rucci. This ensemble was featured on the runway for Rucci's Fall/Winter 2007 runway collection. The abstract design printed onto silk organdy is from a digitized painting by Rucci himself. Wearable art!
The creamy bone colored silk sheath mini dress features a micro-fringed hem with scattered dainty ostrich feathers. Gentle boning inside the bodice of the dress. The scooped neckline is layered in silken cut outs and more ostrich feathers. At the back of the dress is an offset zipper and a gold chain that goes down the center back with a dangling carnelian stone embellishment. The carnelian pendant brings to life the printed carnelian directly underneath. Twinkling seed beads adorn the black and gold printed abstract paint stroke bringing the digitized painting to the material world.
Matching cocooning silk cape with large shawl collar, heavily top-stitched back, and gathered ruffled bottom edge. Two arm holes inside the cape-like jacket. No closure to the jacket. Great vintage condition.
