This incredible 1940's piece is by the legendary couturier, Madame Grès. Known for her masterful draping techniques, this stunning silk jersey dress is no exception. The intricate shell shaped hand smocking along the bodice and rear is complimented by the sultry V-neckline and dramatically draped shoulders. There is ample padding in the shoulders that help achieve that classic 40's silhouette. Fluid long sleeves gather at the cuffs, with the same shell shaped smocking, and are secured with fabric covered shank buttons. The gorgeous gathered skirt falls to about the knees and looks unbelievably chic in its delicious shade of chocolate brown. There are hook and eye closures along the center back that make for a secure fit.

This masterpiece is in very good vintage condition with some imperfections throughout. This piece is still in wearable condition. There are teeny holes as shown in the photos. There is a bit of color fading on the shoulder as well
