Wearable art runway piece from the Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons Spring 2003 collection. To quote Sarah Mower's eloquent review for Vogue “Junya Watanabe’s show conjured a vision of innocent 18th-century milkmaids who had parachuted into a field of summer flowers”.
This beam of geometric sunshine features a breezy cotton a-line with the most fantastic wired puff sleeves. The twisted wire sleeves poof the fabric into a bouncy silhouette while keeping the shoulder and underarm comfortable and open. In addition to the peek-a-boo shoulder, a gorgeous oblong open back adds further ventilation. Op-Art geometric printed cotton with a motif of shades of yellow, goldenrod, ochre, white, and black.
Excellent condition, never worn and still has manufacture tags and extra fabric.
