A perfect example of '30s comfort and casual beauty. The warm florals on this dress are gorgeous and soft. The zig zag smocking stitch that lines the collar sleeves and waist are multi-colored in the same earth tones are are a lovely addition to this piece. The 1930's were a popular time for Indian block print, and perhaps because of England's association with India this dress was created to replicate that style. The material, a soft silk, could have been made in India. Regardless, this style follows the peasant dresses of English sub-culture that alluded to the Renaissance. Modest, semi-puff sleeves. Adorable ties at the wrists with a snap. Back top has a snap and loop and the side rib has a snap and hook. Excellent condition, no notable flaws. Approximate US size 8/10.
