An exceptional Stavropoulos gown from the late 1970s to early 1980s, embodying quietly seductive, sculpted elegance. Constructed from black devoré velvet on silk chiffon, layered over three tones of bias-cut silk georgette in brown, apricot, and nude, creating subtle, skin-like depth beneath the surface. The gown falls into a classic column silhouette, with bias cut allowing for fluid movement and close, body-skimming fit. The velvet burnout features Art Nouveau-inspired geometric floral motif with fine metallic threads woven throughout to catch the light with understated shimmer. Softly structured shoulders nod to 1940s tailoring rather than exaggerated 1980s proportions, lending balance and refinement. Asymmetrical back zipper provides an unexpected detail. In excellent vintage condition. Best suited for US 6, with flexibility to accommodate 4–8 due to bias cut.
