An exquisite summer haute couture evening dress by Nina Ricci under the direction of Madame Brossin de Méré dating from 1955-1957. This dress feels quintessentially 1950's while simultaneously giving off an air or cutting-edge modernity. Expertly cut large tulle gussets, treated asymmetrically, starting from the hips in pointy-tipped godets. Impressionist style roses printed on the tulle in red with green leaves against a black roses. Lined in brown silk. The skirt consists of four layers of brown tulle for a built-in crinoline effect. Zipper at the side of the back. Very few small needle holes in the tulle, a few micro-punctures which do not call into question the excellent condition of this nearly 70 year old dress.
