We've included this excerpt from Vogue that truly encapsulates the ethos: "I wanted to point out the tribal roots of body art and offer a little history lesson," says Jean Paul Gaultier, who concocted a wardrobe for some futuristic globe-trotting tribe from a heady mix of African, Indian, European, and American influences. "Blending primitive accessories, eighteenth-century shapes, and stocking-sheer layers printed with ancient motifs, Gaultier presents a startling vision of cross-cultural harmony" (Vogue, March 1994). The incredible tattoo print covers the pale beige mesh in tribal motifs in indigo, teal, blue, black, and red.
