A glimpse at the bygone era of high fashion aviary style. These fabulous TWA stewardess uniforms were designed by none other than the late great Valentino Garavani. This design was in rotation for TWA Airline Hostesses from 1971-1975. The uniform set includes a short sleeve micro-mini tunic and matching high-waisted flare pants. The tunic can be worn on it's own as a micro-mini dress! The mini dress has a classic A-line cut with short sleeves. At the left side of the crew neck, two brassy gold tone buttons with a signature Valentino "V" decorate the garment, matching the additional two buttons at the left sleeve. Sleek decorative welt pockets at either sides of the front hips.
These uniforms were revolutionary at the time not only due to their cutting edge design, but also their convenient machine washable fabrication that was not yet standard for airline uniforms! Both pieces in this Airline Hostess ensemble are composed of a poly jacquard. Both pieces are unlined. The tunic dress closes with a zipper at the back and the pants are pull-on style.
