A holy grail for the fashion obsessed—Vivienne Westwood Fall 1992 pant suit. The Dame herself wore this design! This is the type of archival vintage that we can confidently endorse as a worthwhile investment in yourself. Women donning dress rooted in traditional menswear will always be subtly cutting edge (and sexy)!
The double breasted suit echoes a sleek interpretation of classic 1940's style tailoring. The longline jacket is adorned with an 8 button configuration of 6x3 (6 buttons, 2 columns) style with the additional 2 buttons at the mirrored welted breast pockets. The right side has two stacked flapped welt pockets and the left has a singular flapped welt pocket. The elongated, high button rows allow for the risque styling option of wearing the suit sans dress shirt! That being said, we adore Viv's dramatic ruffled jabot accessorizing as well as the runway styling with layered strands of pearls. Fabulously flattering peaked lapels draw the eye to the shoulder creating a balanced, powerful silhouette with the added charm of the allusion of a slimmer waist. The longline back is un-vented.
The '40s style trousers are high waisted, wide leg, crisply creased, and finished with a dapper cuffed hem. The trousers close with a zip and button feature at the side. The suit is composed of a wool gabardine in a warm and rich shade of cream. The buttons that adorn the blazer are brassy gold-toned reflective discs with the instantly recognizable engraved Vivienne Westwood logo. Both garments are fully lined in a silky satin acetate.
Great condition. Appears unworn as the pockets are still tacked closed.
