An exquisite 1920's cocoon coat in a gold floral French lamé and true black velvet. This opulent (and rare!) piece captures the very essence of Jazz Age glamour. The swirling romantic and abstract floral rose motif beautifuly articulates the opulent textures and artistic silhouettes of the era. The coat is a wrap-style cocoon with gathered sleeves and a fluttering petal collar. This bold piece hangs beautifully when worn open as well as in it's intended wrap structure. Internal side button closure. Fully lined in black velvet.
Very good vintage condition. This 100+ year old lamé piece is rare, and especially in this wearable of a condition. Lamé has that fabulous patina of light tarnish on the metal threads. The ribbon of the side tie closure has been professionally repaired and replaced.
