Sophie of Saks 1950's silk brushstroke print swing coat dress. The incredible piece features a wide portrait collar and three large buttons. Sophie Gimbel's designs for Saks Fifth Avenue were expensive for a reason. Gimbel's ready-to-wear line was coveted by America's elite due to her attention to detail that verged on couture. This wild and whimsical abstract print verges on an interpretation of an animal print. The style of the silhouette is intended to drape as a classic loose swing fit. Fully lined in silk chiffon.
Overall great condition with a few faint pulls and minor pinholes at discreet places such as the inner cuff and jacket hem. These are truly hard to spot due to the fantastically bold print.
Best fits a Medium.
Chest: 44"
Waist: 50"
Hip: Open
Shoulder: 16"
Sleeve: 20"
