Saint Laurent 1970's Black Wool Gabardine and Faille Skirt Suit

Sophisticated and timeless 1970's Saint Laurent Rive Gauche skirt suit. The jacket is fashioned from a wool gabardine in a matte black with sleek black wool faille peaked lapels, clearly an iteration of a tuxedo jacket. The front of the jacket is adorned with two patch pockets at the hips and a welt pocket at the left breast. Three button closure at the front and three button closures at the cuffs. 

The skirt is smartly tailored with a nipped waist a knee length hem, and a wrap design. The front features two flat box pleats and hidden functional pockets at the hips. The wrap design is punctuated with black piping outlining the overlapping hem trailing down to the skirt hem. Double hook and clasp closure. Both the skirt and jacket are fully lined in faille.

Excellent vintage condition.

Both the jacket and skirt a re labelled a FR 42 (US 10). Fits more like a modern US 8 or 10.
