Fall in love with this ravishing 1979 rose-covered scarlet red silk georgette ballgown. This gown was designed by model-turned-designers Peggy Jennings & Mary Hellman under their co-founded label Lion's Paw. Celebrated for their romantic designs during their brief late '70s, this gown is likely one of one. The gown is composed of a single layer of scarlet red silk georgette in a soft and feminine fit-and-flare silhouette over an inner slip dress. The bodice features a scoop neck that draws the eye down to the fitted waist. The waist is complete with a detachable belt with a silk rose. The shirred sleeves are composed of a single layer of the georgette for a sheer finish. The airy and voluminous bishop sleeves finish with a tiered cuff with button closures. Rows of silk roses encircle the floor-sweeping hem for a final show-stopping touch.
The inner slip dress is composed of a matching bodice of the same silk georgette over a wine colored acetate slip. The slip closes with mother of pearl buttons at the side of the chest.
