Issey Miyake 1990's Black Sheer Diagonal Herringbone-Pleat Tunic Dress

An incredibly sculptural Issey Miyake full-length tunic dating to the late 1990's. This piece exudes a mystic energy, it feels plucked from a 1990's sci-fi film. Undoubtably rare as we have not yet been able to pinpoint this striking piece to a singular collection. Regardless of the exact provenance, this tunic dress feels of special importance. The intricate pleat motif  throughout the body of the dress appears to create a pattern similar to that of a 3D herringbone, but at the pointed protruding fold down the center of the dress, the rows of pleats meet at a point. The pleat motif of the arms is a diagonal pleat that ends with a tapered sleeve with alternating lines of hidden pleats that expand and fold in various widths. The high neckline adds to the mystique of the piece. with expertly crafted from a semi-sheer polyester ideal for maintaining the shape of its diagonal pleats. The hem tapers higher at the center and lower at the sides. (Our photo did not depict this). The teeny hem furls into a slight lettuce hem. Sheer and airy lightweight poly. An impressive and rare Miyake to have in your collection.
