Magnificently beautiful evening gown by Greg LaVoi for Irene. If you aren't familiar with Irene Lentz, the American fashion designer-turned-costumer known mononymously as Irene, you still have most certainly seen her work in iconic 1940's films like Meet Me in St. Louis (1944). LaVoi brought Irene's designs to a new generation when he launched this collection of designs inspired by her designs from the 1930's- early 1960's. You can see the clear inspiration in the photo we've included of Lucille Ball in an original Irene for the film Du Barry Was a Lady (1943).
This exquisite evening gown has been crafted from a delicate silk chiffon in a delicious shade of lilac pink. The strapless gown features a seductive bustier bodice, flattering mermaid silhouette, and elegant train. The dress has been masterfully draped to flatter the body and and draw the eye through stunning swag details that swoop down the skirt. There are padded bra cups and soft boning hidden within the silk charmeuse lining as well as a hook and eye closures and a zipper in back. Beautifully constructed.
