Bonnie Cashin for Sills Spring 1968 Ecru Leather Belted Trench Coat, Documented

A chic and sophisticated leather trench by the brilliant American designer, Bonnie Cashin. This timeless piece dates to Cashin's Spring 1968 collection for Sills and it was documented on the RTW Spring 1968 Runway.

The supple leather is a soft shade of beige-grey ecru. The leather has a beautiful sign of wear and patina indicative of quality leather. The collar is a neat and preppy 1960's style collar. Quintessential Cashin seamwork is present throughout the coat's thoughtful and subtle topstitching. The leather tie-belt at the waist is secured with rectangular brassy chrome belt loops.  Under the collar there is a single brass toned round toggle button. The button under the collar and the waist belt are the only points of closure on this garment. Lined in a pale pink silk. Pockets at either hip lined in pink silk. 

Good vintage condition with gentle signs of wear throughout the leather and subtle discoloration. The coat appears gently worn and has not been professionally cleaned. These are mostly minor surface imperfections as well as age with the exception of a slight abrasions to the leather under the right armpit. A few scattered points of faint discoloration within the silk lining as well.
