A divine modern interpretation of the classic smoking robe by the cutting edge label, R13. The New York based label has garnered a reputation for combining elements of archetypical luxury fashion motifs with details pulled from fashionable subcultures such as grunge or punk. This boudoir-meets-streetwear piece is composed of a silk and rayon devoré velvet with cut-outs at the hem to drape as if you are wearing a well-loved antique from the 1920's. The velvet appears almost black from a distance, but it is an iridescent shade of midnight blue with highlights of a warm violet to further give the illusion of a true antique velvet piece with a patina. The romantic floral devoré velvet is juxtaposed with cotton flannel plaid lapels and cuffs in forest green and navy blue. The belt offers the option of the velvet or plaid in a reversible twist. Hip pockets and chest pocket are sewn shut as this is a new item, but fully functional and ready for use.
We love this piece as it feels like a celebration of the quirks of vintage rather than a simple replication. Clever, moody, and brooding.
