Jean-Charles de Castelbajac 1980s Unique Hands & Faces Jacket
From iconic French designer, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (JCDC) comes this incredible and collectable piece. Hand-painted hands cradle the many faces on this piece which are gorgeously sequined and appliqued on. Each face is its own work of art, sequined to skin tones while ethnic details illustrate the range of beautiful races throughout this piece. The focus on inclusivity and the union of races was a prominent motif in the 80s- its fair to say this is a 80s piece, at latest mid 90s. Each of the faces feature rhinestone eyes making each individual glimmer. This is a lightweight cotton gauze fabric. No flaws, in excellent condition. This is a rare piece, possibly one of a kind. No buttons or clasps. The mock nehru collar and wide kimino-esque sleeves make this a special nod to wordly influences. Own a piece of fashion history with this amazing jacket!
