Koos van den Akker 1980s Iconic Multi-Print Patchwork Ensemble
The dutch-born designer Koos Van Den Akker's spectacular patchwork is iconic with it's multi-print designs that dominated the 80s. This ensemble has to be the most stunning one we've seen yet! The earthy shades are a delight to the eye. Each patch of fabric is intricately designed with florals, swirls, leaves, chevron patterns...you name it! So many eclectic colors and prints make up this cotton and chiffon ensemble. The top is peasant style, cotton, ethnic-inspired with a tie-neck, snap side closure and a back ribbon tie. The skirt is double layered with a peach petticoat and the multi-print chiffon exterior. Arranged in a patchwork style. Excellent condition, one small fray as shown in last photo, not noticeable. A similar style ensemble was featured at the MET https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/162859
Truly a work of art!
