Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garcons Robe de Chamber / Spring 1997 navy blue gingham dress. The collection titled "Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body" came to be known as the "lumps and bumps" show. The show featured tube-like dress with varying seam-work, each one with a unique silhouette. The dresses were stuffed with lumpen filler to sculpt the body into unconventional silhouettes. The dress we have here in our collection is without the lumpen filler, but the dress still playfully and daringly pushes boundaries. Cowl neckline with an asymmetric semi-empire waist. Unlined.
