This show stopping 1970's Arnold Scaasi gown will literally leave a sparkling memory in the minds of everyone you meet while in it. The beige-nude prong-set rhinestoned illusion is reminiscent of '70s take on Marilyn Monroe's "Happy Birthday President Kennedy" dress. Crafted from sheer beige chiffon and beige lining, the column gown features a sexy v-neckline and spaghetti straps adorned with brass coil beads. The dress is fully embellished in aurora borealis crystals that create the most breathtaking sparkle.
A short sleeve iteration of the gown was featured in the 2011 Scaasi exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The gown was displayed in the section dedicated to Scaasi's designs for Barbara Streisand.
Overall good condition with a bit of wear commensurate with age. There is repaired damage to note at the hem. There is some slight pulling and oxidation caused by the weight of the crystals throughout the gown. She is still a spectacular gown with plenty of life left in her! A great stage or collector's piece.
