Fall Trend- Luxe Leathers

Sunday, September 16th, 2012

After seasons and seasons of colorblocking, sumptous satins, juicy jewel tones and perfect pastels, Fall 2012′s collection are serving up something new. Looks like black is the new black! Versace, Givenchy, Fendi, Cushnie et Ochs (pictured above) were only a few of the designers who showed sexy leather on the Fall runways. Black leather was re-imagined in the form of slinky evening wear, power blouses, and feminine skirts. Daring-yes, Dominatrix-no! Gianni Versace, Thierry Mugler and Claude Montana’s vintage leather pieces are some of the most popular items in our boutique. Fill up your Fall wardrobe with vintage leather dresses, jackets, skirts, coats and accessories from The Way We Wore!

Doris Raymond Models This Fall’s Big Trend- The Oversized Coat!

Friday, September 14th, 2012

Turn up the volume vintage lovers! This fall it’s all about the oversized coat! Chloé, Jill Sander, and Balenciaga set the tone on the runways with the new must have outerwear- oversized coats in classic shapes. The exaggerated lapels and spacious swing cuts beg for balance; we recommend pairing these with slim fitting skirts or skinny trousers.

80′s Revival: The Illusion Trend

Sunday, July 22nd, 2012

Zoe Kravitz stunned on the red carpet last week for The Dark Knight Rises premiere in New York City. Though not for the faint of heart, the illusion trend has been making it’s rounds on red carpets and runways alike.

Plunging peekaboos and sultry sheer inserts were favorites of designers during the decadent 1980′s. To modernize the trend,
a sexy look like this is best paired with sleek hair and minimal jewelry. Pictured above are two of our favorite illusion gowns from the 1980′s by Thierry Mugler and Carolyne Roehm!

Nancy Pelosi is “On-Trend” in Vintage Mugler

Sunday, June 12th, 2011

Nancy Pelosi caught the attention of the fashion world when she arrived to a recent State Dinner wearing vintage Thierry Mugler evening suit.  The designer, one of Lady Gaga’s favorites, is known for his signature style of “a timeless equilibrium between classicism and modernity” as perfectly represented in Ms. Pelosi’s ensemble, circa 1980′s.

Though the world may not agree on all things political, we think that the 71-year-old Ms. Pelosi definitely nailed the politics of fashion. (The Cut)
