We can’t say much about Tom Ford that hasn’t already been said but that won’t stop us from saying it – he is a genius. The master of uber-chicdom just released a video on his website showcasing his highly anticipated Fall 2011 collection and wow, is it gorgeous! The dramatic body-conscious silhouettes, rich jewel-tone colours, use of lace, texture and fur is to us, a modern interpretation of classic Yves St. Laurent meets Valentino circa 1970′s. As Doris Raymond would say, “If these two fashion masters had a baby, it would be Tom Ford.”
Since his return to fashion, the designer has been keeping his cards close to his chest. He now requires that all media sign non-disclosures at his runway presentations and places an embargo on the release of any imagery before releasing it himself.
This master of storytelling, both verbal and visceral, keeps us riveted which is why we’re looking forward to “Visionaries: Tom Ford” the upcoming documentary that offers “a personal look into one of fashion’s greatest minds,” coming to the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) on June 24th.
