Writer Tim Blanks lovingly referred to Gaultier’s inspiration for his Spring 2013 Couture collection as the “Real Housewives of Mumbai.” From the models’ gold-painted feet to the gypsy-esque layering of jewelry, an exciting take on ethnic was served on a gilded platter. While the sixties seem to be the decade du jour, Gaultier took it a step further by combining psychedelic stripes and hostess gown silhouettes with wide belts, voluminous bomber jackets, and his famous cone bra turned gown.
