We never know what to expect when Rihanna’s super-stylist Mel Ottenburg and his fabulous assistant Jaleel pay us a visit. Recently, the duo stopped in looking for options for the MTV Video Music Awards and purchased a red metallic shawl from the 1980′s. Rihanna is a style chameleon, was the scarf destined to have a second life as a blouse? wrap skirt? teeny-weenie mini dress? (Hey, she’s got the legs for it!)
Rihanna opened up the show with performances of her hits “Cockiness” featuring A$AP Rocky and ”Where Have You Been.” She wore a red mesh tunic with red leather pants topped off with a turban made from our scarf!
This isn’t the first time the singer has worn our vintage accessories. In the “Where Have You Been” video, she rocked a 1920′s headband from TWWW (pictured below.) We’re starting to think we’re the go-to spot for VMA accessories… remember last year!
