Banana Republic Creates Vintage-Inspired Looks in Virgin America Collaboration

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

The 1960′s and 1970′s were a Golden Age in traveling. So it’s only natural that when Banana Republic was commissioned to redesign the uniforms for flight attendants they referenced vintage silhouettes. Pencil skirts, feminine blouses, and cardigans were all a part of the new in-flight wardrobe.

Looking for travel-friendly vintage? We recommend 1970′s dresses and jumpsuits in jersey, they’re super comfortable for long flights and wrinkle free! Stop by The Way We Wore boutique and shop our 1970′s dresses and separates- and leave the sweat pants and Uggs on the ground!

The Debbie Reynolds Auction

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

On June 18, Profiles in History will hold an auction of Debbie Reynolds’ incredible film costume and set piece collection, which includes Judy Garland’s iconic blue cotton Dorothy dress and Marilyn Monroe’s plunging red sequin dress from Gentleman Prefer Blonds. Public preview dates will be held at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on June 11-12 and June 15-17 (all from 12pm to 5pm).

“My lifetime dream has been to assemble and preserve the history of the Hollywood film industry. Hollywood has been an enormous part of my life as I know it has been for countless fans all over the world.  This collection represents a lifetime of collecting Hollywood artifacts and this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood History for those who love the movies as much as I do.  For the first time in nearly five decades, these iconic pieces will be made available to the public through a series of auctions presented by Profiles in History beginning in June 2011.” -Debbie Reynolds
